System ‘one’ and ‘two’.
That’s how it is.
Like day and night,
heads and tails.
'One' wants things now,
'two' says later.
One craves the instantaneous,
two, the deliberator.
One begs for attention,
two maintains isolation.
Yet we are all both,
like heads and tails,
day and night.
There’s another version—
the two selves.
“I am my remembering self;
and the experiencing self —
who does my living—
is like a stranger to me.”
I live to be remembered
yet I forget what I live.
Like day precedes night,
head flips to tail.
